In this tutorial, we will demonstrate how to add a dramatic rain effect to a photo in Photoshop. While rain effects are not new to Photoshop, we will go a step further and show how to make the image more photorealistic by adding reflections and small puddles. Let’s get started!
Most of us prefer to ignore rain if possible. When you have your camera but you are afraid to click photos in the rain. Either you think you enjoy the whole scenario under the rain if you are a rain lover. Also, rain can add a whole new dimension to your images.
So there is an easy procedure to edit photos under rain without getting camera all wet
Open image where you need to apply rain, but none exist
Click on the create new layer icon at the base of layer panel, choose edit fill set the use 50% gray
Go to window styles, choose image effect rain effect
In layer panel change blending mode “overlay”
Click on pattern overlay layer effect; modify the opacity and scale of the rain until it suits your need
If rain angle doesn’t meet up your demand bring free transform box and transform it angle just on your preferable angle
(ctrl+j) to copy the rain layer & press (ctrl+T) to activate the free transform box, Drag the corner until it forms a layer of larger blurred raindrops
Remember foreground raindrops are on the different layer; if you need you can reduce Opacity to blur theme
